SE Rolleston Waste Water Pump Station
At Maskell Productions Ltd., we are proud to be part of the Pines Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion project in Rolleston, Canterbury. This essential project is being fast-tracked to meet the growing demand from the Eastern Selwyn Sewerage Scheme, which services Prebbleton, Lincoln, Springston, Rolleston, and West Melton. The upgrade will ensure that the plant can handle the rapid population growth in the region.
What We Delivered:
Our role involved the manufacturing, design, and transportation management of key FRP (fiberglass-reinforced plastic) components for the expanded facility:
- Wetwell: We designed and manufactured the DN5500 wetwell, weighing 15.6 tons. Due to its non-standard size, we built it in three pieces to address transportation challenges from Auckland to Canterbury. All connections were meticulously marked to ensure precise and quick on-site assembly.
- Valve Chamber: We also designed and manufactured the DN5500 valve chamber, also weighing 5.8 tons. Similar to the wetwell, the pipeworks were pre-fitted in our Auckland facility, and valves will be reinstalled on-site.
- Tanks: We designed and manufactured six DN2500 110KL tanks, each weighing approximately 4.5 tons. These large, durable tanks will play a critical role in storing and processing wastewater efficiently.
- Hatch Boxes: In addition, we designed and supplied hatch boxes for the tanks, wetwell, and valve chamber, ensuring accessibility and operational safety.
- Transportation Management: Maskell managed the transportation of all components, ensuring the timely and safe delivery of the large, custom-designed parts from Auckland to Canterbury.
Project Impact:
Our custom-built solutions, such as the modular wetwell and pre-fitted valve chamber, ensure that the components will integrate seamlessly, minimizing installation challenges and ensuring long-term operational reliability. The use of FRP materials also contributes to sustainability goals by reducing carbon emissions compared to traditional materials.
The project, completed within an impressive four working months, is a testament to Maskell’s competency in meeting tight deadlines while delivering high-quality, custom-made components. It showcases our ability to handle complex and large-scale projects efficiently, setting a benchmark for future infrastructure work.
